https://bbs.archlinux.org – I don't know if the second 'UTF-8' is recommended in '/etc/rc.conf'.  I do not have it but my locale is "en_US.UTF-8", which is usually trouble-free.Do you have DAEMON_LOCALE set to "yes" in 'rc.conf'?  I don't believe this should make any difference, but mine is set to "yes".The only other two locale related items I can think to suggest are straight from the wiki, Archwiki: Locale.  I don't know if either of these will work –    Update the locale settings by running 'locale-gen' as (HowTos)

thanks karol. I didn't had DAEMON_LOCALE set to anything.

I experienced an error message regarding something about cannot locale en-US.UTF8 after an update and reboot today.I got rid of the error message by uncommenting:en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8  en_US ISO-8859-1  in /etc/locale.genPrior to fix:$ locale locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directoryAfter

Did you remember to run locale-gen after editing "/etc/locale.gen" ?Post the output of:$ locale -a $ locale $ ls -l /etc/locale.conf

I'm having a problem with my locale setting.

I have set the default language to Serbian and it hence the login page is now in Serbian Cyrillic. However today I logged out and when Iogged in everything had reverted to US English. I normally use LXDE but I logged into Gnome and that is now also in English.

I don't understand what I changed but keyboard crashed just before (which is why I logged out).

First thing, please check that you are using the "UTF-8" version of your locale, and that your filesystem (if needed) has the correct code page among its options.See /etc/locale.conf for details about your current locale selection.
