Should I resort to re-installing #! now, or are there other things I can do to try and fix this?Is it Waldorf or Statler you use? If it`s Statler you probably would want to upgrade to Waldorf anyway, now that Waldorf is the new stable release.
I have a friend. He's very new to computers and knows relatively little to nothing about handling computers, such as navigating windows.
Simple, and maybe dumb, question, but here it is anyways. I was happy with Statler except for the age of the packages in a non-backported release, so when 12.04 was released I grabbed the Xubuntu variant and shoehorned XFCE 4.10 into it. I have to say I like the simpleness of it. Not as technical or simple as CrunchBang, but cozy. A little more fluffy.
Hello,My first time with Linux I want it to be with #! . I've fell in love with #!. The disclaimer says, CrunchBang Linux is not recommended for anyone needing a stable system, but the comments in the Forum say that it is stable. I need some advice here.

hi,I am afraid I cannot help very much as for your first request, but maybe this page will... If you decide to reinstall Waldorf, as long as you do not touch the /home partition, everything should be fine...I won't go for Statler now that it is about to become old-Stable..it is just, well, old and Waldorf is already extremely reliable...
I should have mentioned in my op that I am running Statler. I went ahead and updated from the 2.xx kernel to the 3.xx kernel. I then installed the atheros firmware and the athk9 installer and ran it. After a reboot my network was there. Im completely new to this distro and was under the impression that Statler is the stable release. Is that true or is waldorf the latest stable?
Just leave your /etc/apt/sources.list alone, and when Wheezy goes Stable, you'll be running CrunchBang Waldorf stable.
As previously discussed, I have updated the Statler images. The new images are available from the download page. Any help with seeding the torrents would be greatly appreciated! The new images do not constitute a new release, at least not for anyone who is content with using the previous 20111125 images.
