I've registered just to feedback how impressive crunchbang is. I've used Ubuntu for years and I really like it but the hardware requirements are getting too high for some of the hardware I use. I tried xubuntu and lubuntu. They were okay. Then I installed crunchbang on my 9 year old daughter's aging laptop 'knowing' it wouldn't really be suitable for a novice user.
