http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hi All :)I've been working on my tint2 and conky configs today and decided to get a couple of things going which I haven't tried before. One was showing unread emails in my conky, and the other was showing the number of updates available from apt.I have the email stuff working now (configs soon to appear in the My Conky Config thread), but am a bit stuck on the updates part. I read over some posts in the Conky Help thread - particularly this post by iggykoopa - but have no experience with cron and haven't been able to find a 'for dummies' explanation anywhere.I have th (HowTos)

Leave it to Dura to post this ! True ... and funny, funny cuz true (imo anyway.)  Agree conky addiction is a potentially serious problem. Esp for conky grand masters like Sector ... he neither knows, nor cares that conky has become addictive. One of the few things about gnu/nix was able to pry meself away from. ooooOOOoo if only x about my conky would but appear 1/47 inch to da right !!!!

Hello, I'm trying to install conky and I'm not able to achieve it. I'm using Gnome3.

I've had my Conky configuration properly working in Ubuntu 12.04 for sometime. After a recent update and reboot Conky is showing up on the Unity Launcher as an entry when it is running. It's not locked to the Launcher. When Conky is killed it goes away. Nothing has changed in my Conky configuration and otherwise it is working properly.
