I'm not sure about firefox but chrome has a GPU blacklist for WebGL. Maybe your GPU was added to that recently.
Judging by a bunch of similar problems, I think you could work around this by downgrading cairo or switching between SNA and UXA.
You can also try 'glamor' if you want to be sure that the acceleration method is not the problem.
Have you tried setting the environment variable vblank_mode=0 or vblank_mode=1 before running a GL app?
