Hi, I'm aware of that there are many threads about this, but none seem to apply to me.I'm new to using Tiling Window Managers, but am not afraid of learning an advanced one. What I want is a very fast tiling window manager and that I can extend it by using C++. I will need the mouse for chromium, so having a mouse functionality is mandatory.
Hello.I've used tutorial from Archlinux wiki to get easy copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) in urxvt.
After booting in to runlevel 3 if I startx the mouse and the keyboard doesnt work, so I couldn copy paste. In slim.log, at the end there is slim:waiting for X server to begin acceptingconnecions for a few times. I'll try and copypaste any other logs with a livecd.

I know that I can copy and paste text in rxvt by using the middle mouse button, but I was wondering if there was a way to define keyboard-shortcuts in the .Xdefaults for copy and pasting text.
Moreover it would be really awesome if it would be possible to select the text with the keyboard as well.
I don't know how you consider removing two out of four steps adding more work.I guess I'm also not clear on what behavior you actually want, as the ones you listed as not working do just what I thought you wanted.

I'm playing with xbindkeys right now. Not seeing how it is much/any different from the basic gnome3 custom keyboard shortcut features. The copying is working with the binding, but the paste won't. Am I doing something wrong with it, or is it truly not possible?

Is there a tiling window manager that allows you to rearrange tiles using the mouse, I know that isn't what normally is done, I just don't have a physical computer setup that lend's itself well to having my hands continually on the keyboard.

I was having this problem also. It seems that since 6u24, copy and paste has been disabled in untrusted applets. To enable it again, add the following line to /opt/java/jre/lib/security/java.policypermission java.awt.AWTPermission "accessClipboard";I put it at the end of the file before the last closing bracket. I can cut and paste now
