I'm having trouble getting port forwarding to work and don't know what to try next. I am testing it using NetCat for windows.
I have one machine (A) connecting directly to the internet, and another (B) connecting to the internet through a sky router.
If I listen for a connection on A, and connect to it with B, it works.
I tested connection using localhost (as it written in documentation) and connection was successful (I got opened terminal and SFTP)
I set port forwarding on the router. I am located inside network.
hi,
i was unable to get a working PPTP connection with a free bodyvpn account through the network manager/vpn tab
my network setup:
client -> switch -> router
i already have a default route to the router which handles the dialup connection.
Disclaimer: My understanding of networking concepts is weak; I only get the basics (probably why I've ended up here).
I've set up SSH on the Tomato firmware on an Asus N10, via port 22 with key authentication.
I've tested the keys by connecting with putty directly to the router when connected to its network. That works OK.
Thnaks for reading. I setup a VPN server on my Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N router at Macau, and use it for access website over China Firewall when i travel in China. On Android and Windows, everything work fine, however on my Macbook Air and iPad, it is not working. I can access blocked site like badoo.com but not facebook and youtube.
I own a Windows Server 2003 VPN server which my clients connect to for accessing the local network..
I have configures the RRAS to use the RADIUS authentication and accept connections.
The PPTP protocol works great and does all that is expected. But the L2TP protocol has some problems.. When I try to connect to the server it just stays on Connecting to domain.com...
I have installed and configured pptp on my 10.04 box. After a lot of googling, I have amended sysctl.conf to allow ipv4 forwarding, and my firestarter firewall to allow VPN traffic.
Network adapter is wlan0
I have created a VPN user with a password, in chap-secrets.
I have port forwarded 1723 in my router
Connecting from my vista PC seems fine ...
Hi everyone.
It's been a long time since I used linux and what little I learned from my first shop bought box of suse, is well and truly forgotten :(
here's my problem, I hope someone can help.
I have a local network at home with a router and a small server. The router manages the local network (DHCP, etc) but does not support PPTP. On the server (Ubuntu 12.04) I set up pptpd and this is working fine ... except that the dhcp3 server started by pptpd is now conflicting with the router.
