I have this old DSL 502T Dlink modem router(wired). I have been using this for many years without any issues.
Recently though, there is issue connecting to the Internet (WAN side). It takes many attempts (restarts of modem) to connect to the internet for the first time, that is when my PC and Modem are started. It takes minimum 3-4 restarts of modem to get an internet connection working.
I'm new to Ubuntu. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. My problem is that I cannot connect to the internet with my D-link modem. I've tried using the lsusb command. It shows that my modem has been plugged in, but I can not configure the modem to connect to the internet.
If i use linux-mainline, it's ok, usb-3g is switched to modem mode and i can connect to internet use usb-3g but when use linux kernel from base group i can't switch modem thus i can't connect to internet. anyone meet this issue?
When I connect my 3G USB Modem to my laptop with 12.04, nothing shows up in Network-Manager. I tried method explained in 143989, but nothing worked out. My usb modem is being detected as USB MMC storage, similar to situation in that thread. Both option 1 (creating script) and connecting through wvdial has failed.
