Connect to Device Behind Router (and Switch) over Internet [migrated]

http://serverfault.com – I'm having a bit of trouble understanding which networking solution to use for my problem: I have a home network which includes several computers behind a router either directly through the router or through switches. The router I am using has DynDNS set up on it, I can VPN to my desktop via Hamachi, I can RDP via Windows 7 RDP, and I can do other sorts of fancy tricks. The one last thing I would like to do is browse to a networked device behind the router from my laptop over the internet. What can I use to accomplish this? I've tried port forwarding port 80 and port 21 to the IP of this d (HowTos)

I'm having trouble getting port forwarding to work and don't know what to try next. I am testing it using NetCat for windows.

I have one machine (A) connecting directly to the internet, and another (B) connecting to the internet through a sky router.

If I listen for a connection on A, and connect to it with B, it works.

Friends people with more knowledge than me ( and sense) can help to troubleshoot it. When one should try to connect to port 3306 of particular ip here e.g. 345.56.67.87 it should be redirected to port 3306 of internal machine. Home Net Topology

ISP/WAN > Modem > Router (linksys) >Router(CISCO 851W) > (serial cable) 2008 R2

I have the loopback cable connected from my server to the CISCO router. The router is connected to the router in the office with a crossover cable. It is connected to Lan port 4 (Linksys) and the cable is plugged in to the WAN port(CISCO).

I'm attempting to RDP from the internet to a server in my LAN.

I am a bit new to vlan, so forgive me if I ask noob question.

I am trying to setup a vlan on my netgear switch (GS105E). I want to create 2 separated networks and I want both of them have internet access.

My setup is

Modem connect to router WRT54G (with dd-wrt) connect to netgear switch

I have configured port 1 and port 5 as vlan1 and port 2 to port 4 as vlan2.

Disclaimer: My understanding of networking concepts is weak; I only get the basics (probably why I've ended up here).

I've set up SSH on the Tomato firmware on an Asus N10, via port 22 with key authentication.

I've tested the keys by connecting with putty directly to the router when connected to its network. That works OK.

Using Windows Server 2012 Essentials.

I've got two ethernet ports. One is connected to a router which is connected to the internet. This portion of the network is fine. The router runs DHCP on the 192.168.1.x subnet, and provides a Company1 WiFi for guests, which does not have access to servers etc.

The idea is to have a second LAN, through the Windows server.
