I have a new install of Ubuntu desktop on an old IBM T43 laptop, and I am trying to get conky up and running. I've copied one of the sample .conkyrc files from the conky sourceforge page and pasted it into ~/.conkyrc . However, I've rebooted conky several times (killall -SIGUSR1 conky) and it still uses the default configuration in: /etc/conky/conky.conf .
Hello, I'm trying to install conky and I'm not able to achieve it. I'm using Gnome3.
Greetings,
I've been trying to set Conky on startup but it seems to be a problem.
I used Ubuntu 12.04 in Gnome Classic

But I found no conky on my menu.
My conky will show up only if I open it from Terminal.

Hey guys. I'm trying to install a new conky that I got off a website. I'm really new to conky and ubuntu in general but here's my issue.
As the title said, I need help running Conky in Ubuntu 12.04. I want to customize my desktop. I want it to be uniquely mine. From what I understand, Conky is the way to do this. Now, that said, everything I have found so far about Conky has been over my head. Will someone PLEASE explain it to me in a way that is for the ABSOLUTE. BEGINNER.
Hey guys.
So i'am trying to get more into Conky. But i have a bit of "trouble" finding information on how to use Conky. How to configure it, how to use it and so on and so forth.
Anyone who have some good links for a total Conky newbie getting more experience in that area?
Thanks on advance.
Kind regards.
