Hi,I just bought a usb modem ZTE MF195, and I am using Aero2 network (Poland).After googling, I found out how to setup this modem to work on Arch, but it only works with wvdial and it doesn't connect with NetworkManager.My config /etc/wvdial.conf:[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
Init1 = AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","darmowy"
Phone = *99#
Carrier Check = yes
Stupid mode = yes
can alreadyI would like to have an internet connection with a 3G modem. This modem is linked with a RS485 port (device /dev/ttyRPC0) and i can already setup him with at commands.
Now, to have my 3G internet connection, i installed pppd and wvdial. I have some difficulties to run them correctly.
Hi i'm having a USB modem connection which for some reason never works in Fedora. I made it work in linux mint but in Fedora no luck.
My Modem is getting configured when i type WVDIALCONF but when I try to connect I get following error
I was trying to install Arch Linux with 3g modem. Previously downloaded usb_modswitch and wvdial and their dependencies. Booted acrh and installed them. Then copied my ubuntu's /etc/wvdial.conf in arch. Then I connect with wvdial and it says connected, modem indicator also says connected. But it is actually not! ping www.google.com says unknown host!
after calling the wvdial this is the answer I get :
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.61
--> Cannot get information for serial port.
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: AT
--> Sending: ATQ0
--> Re-Sending: AT
--> Modem not responding.
When I connect my 3G USB Modem to my laptop with 12.04, nothing shows up in Network-Manager. I tried method explained in 143989, but nothing worked out. My usb modem is being detected as USB MMC storage, similar to situation in that thread. Both option 1 (creating script) and connecting through wvdial has failed.
