I noticed that one of our servers (running Ubuntu) can send mails to any domain (yahoo.com ,gmail.com) using simple "sendmail" command.
But I cannot figure out how to configure similar setup in a new server. I cannot see any files such as "/etc/mail/sendmail.cf" in the first server.
How does this work ? Does it use some other SMTP server to do actual mail delivery?
We have a php application running on Linux which sends emails to there users. Currently its setup like php.ini is configured to send via local sendmail server but we have separate mail server for our organization for this domain.
I have to setup a mail server because my hosting account don't allow me to send over 250 mail/hour.
I have a HP microserver at home and I want to use it to send the mails.
I configured Virtualmin on it and i created the domain example.com in it (I have example.com registered with hosting on my hoster) but when I tried to send mail from outlook, my server send the emails, but gmail mark it as spam
I have the following scenario i must implement using Postfix (but don't know how to begin):
Say we have a domain aaa.com which is hosted somewhere (this is already functioning without any problems).
I have currently set up in my Cloud Server - Rackspace, a server mail, using Postfix, Dovecot and Roundcube. The goal, is develop a Newsletter with Javamai, then to configure it for send multiples emails using the smtp set up from my server.
The server mail is working fine. But, I have not ideia as to use the smtp of the server for the Javamail.
Thanks you!
What I'm supposed to do is send emails from Ubuntu. The easiest way I have found is using Thunderbird and linking my real e-mail address (abc@hotmail.com) to Thunderbird account.
I can successfully receive e-mails and download full history this way.
I have a customer who has recently begun using GFI Mail protection and archiving to take care of some legal requirements to archive e-mail.
We seem to have the incoming working fine. We changed the MX records to reflect the GFI mail servers. However, I need to force my cpanel server to send e-mails from their domain to the gfi outbound smtp server.
I am having a small problem.
I have a computer in a domain on which some applications need to send email to the outside users. The SMTP server is not in my control. It is managed by some other persons.
In my application I need to enter IP of SMTP,Port,My username and password.
After this the documentation says it will work i.e. the application should be able to send emails.
Ok We have a difference of opinion on something and wanted to get some expert advice.
We host our mail with our main domain "OurDomain.net" with a third part mail provider. We have an in house application that has to be able to send mail out to our clients.
