I had set my cPanel (version 11.30.6 build 6) Update Preferences to:

cPanel Package Updates: Manual Updates Only
- bandmin, dovecot, exim, ftp, mysql, python all set to Inherit

Operating System Package Updates: Manual Updates Only
SpamAssassin Rules Updates: Manual Updates Only
Ho
I have been working towards improving our monthly Windows Server update process. The goal is to remove as much of the manual process as possible. Our process has been 1) Present updates to servers via WSUS 2) Manually reboot 3) Manually check that the server has come back up after the reboot.
I have 2 GPOS on my W2K3 domain:
1 is for the servers, where AU is disabled
the 2nd GPO is for desktop, where AU is enabled (with limitations - NA for the question).
I manage my AU's using Microsoft's WSUS. The question I have, If I mark an update, as approved to all computers, does the GPO takes presedence? or once I approved it to all, the AU will be installed on the server?
I recently installed WSUS in a network and am now waiting for it to download all the updates I want to provide to other clients.
The updates are already approved. The installation is set up to only download approved updates. That is what it is doing right now.
So, this is going to take a while.
I'd like to automatically install Windows server updates (backed by WSUS), but can't seem to get wuauclt /updatenow to actually initiate an install (or any of the other undocumented switches).
It works on a test workstation, but I believe that's because installation is set to Automatic Every Day while the server is set to Detect Only.
I have multiple WSUS servers setup on our domain; one is handling Windows Updates, while another is setup to only do Endpoint Protection updates (via SCCM 2012). Endpoint Updates are working properly on all machines, while Windows Updates are only working on some.
We have a small environment where a dedicated System Center Data Protection Manager 2012 server is used to back up everything; the server has no performance problems and plenty of hardware resources available.
We also have a Hyper-V cluster, and would like to use System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 to manage it; but, for obvious reasons, we would like to avoid to run this software on a VM
cPanel has released new builds for all public update tiers. These updates provide targeted changes to address security concerns with the cPanel & WHM product. These builds are currently available to all customers via the standard update system. If your deployed cPanel & WHM servers are configured to automatically update when new releases are available, then no action is required.
