Hey, I'm about a couple weeks in to my new laptop's ubuntu installation and decided to run minecraft after making a mod for it. upon starting it up and logging in, I got a black screen and crash report.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.10
At times my system would have it's screen all messed up it's hard to see what I'm doing. Recently it causes my system to crash and it rebooted itself after five minutes.
After rebooting it ask me to report the recent crash. Went to see the details and it's the usr/bin/xorg.
I'm having a bit of a conundrum with 12.04. I put it on a CD to install it on my new system and tossed it in. Checked out the trial bit and everything seemed to be ok, it looked great.
So I do the actual install, restart, and... I get a purple screen.
If the trial works then why will it not boot properly? :???:
'Edit'- Forgot to say its the 64bit version I'm trying to use.
Hello everyone. I am in desperate need of help, my screen keeps displaying random colours and failing after a several minutes of logging on, but the system does not crash at all. Also, I enjoy computer games very much and when I run games, the graphics in the games starts failing.

Hi,
I have just installed Ubuntu version 10.04. I have tried both the desktop and the netbook version and the problems I am describing occur in both versions.
What happens is that it seems the system has problems logging onto the wireless network.
My system was running for a while amount of 6 hour. Two times i loss remote access and it was not functioning anymore IP is gone etc etc.
3 time showing crash but i have no idea what and why.
I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 on another system and without even really trying the generic drivers I automatically went and installed the proprietary ones.
It was a nightmare. Catalyst Control Center would always crash when I changed my display settings to multiple monitors and a higher resolution and tried to save them. I had to redo my display settings every time I rebooted.
3.2.0-0.bpo.2-amd64 system crash on bootVery often the system does not boot properly, crashing on boot requiring a 4 sec shutdown and re-start up to 5 times before it finally boots.
