Loaded a new x32 machine with FC17 XFCE. I went through the adobe flash plugin install procedure. All that went without incident. Used all the latest updates for FC17 and flash.
I try youtube, the videos seem to load but never start to play. Just a black square. Now, go to the plug in control panel DISABLE flash. Go back to the page re-load and the video plays just fine.
Is it just me or does Firefox just eat memory when running a page with flash? I have the 64bit Flash plugin installed (as downloaded from adobe and installed into my .mozilla/plugins folder)
I want to install adobe acrobat reader plugin in ubuntu 12.10. I tried enabling medibuntu and searched for mozilla-acroread and acroread-plugins, but the search yielded no results.
why does this page say java is running if I don't have the java plugin installed? How do i find and disable the java plugin for firefox, and others?
Usually I can fix just about anything that comes up on my home computer but firefox is giving me a heck of a time.
Problem:
Some sites do not load at all (most important one being bank site)
No videos play at all
What i have done:
Checked flash player, ensured it was up to date
Checked to see all plugins were updated
Started firefox in safemode

In a fresh installed or upgraded Ubuntu, first thing to do is install flash plugin for web browser to enjoy flash videos. As a beginner, we use Ubuntu Software Center to search and install applications.
In Ubuntu 11.10, the Ubuntu Software Center shows two: Adobe Flash Plugin 10 and Adobe Flash Plugin. I selected Adobe Flash Plugin 10.
When I navigate to a site with FireFox that came with Fedora 11 I get a bar at the top of the screen that says I need a plugin to see some of the page.
When I click on the install plugins button it does the download but fails to install.
I tryed doing it manually and it still failed.
How do I install Flash Player?
I cannot remember how many times I had problems with flash player in different versions of Ubuntu, but before coming to 12.10 I was able to resolve them somehow. But now I am really stuck.
Here is the scenery: freshly installed Xubuntu 12.10 with all updates, the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox and flashplugin reinstalled several times.
I was in a site (URL : http://www.francocube.com/cyril/step_1.php) and there was animations who needed a plugin.
