first of all I would like to start with admiting that I am a complete noob in this field.
My question to you is; if I was to rent a Virtual Private Server, that according to the specifications on the retailers website, runs Linux dist. with Debian 6.0 ISP package, how could I do the same installation on my own server?
As of which linux should I download and where to get the ISP package?
Ok, here is my situation, I work for a non profit organization and we are about to rent a server running CPanel, before we do though I have been tasked with finding a way to access it from our network. I current have a server of my own (that I rent) and I cannot connect to Cpanel or WHM at all.
I have ESXi 5.1 running on a standalone box. On another server, I have Windows 2008 R2 installed and it has a 1 TB partition free. Both are on the same network. I am a complete noob to VMWare and I'd like to know the easiest way to use that 1 TB partition as a datastore/available resource on my ESXi server.
Will I have to convert the entire Windows 2008 R2 server using VMWare converter?
