I've just installed Centos 5.4 and would very much like the extra eye-candy supplied by compiz. I cannot seem to find any information regarding how to install it, however. Any tips are appreciated.

I have tried the sudo apt-get install compiz-fusion-plugins-extra in the terminal window but it said that it can't find it, so if anyone of you know a way to get the extra animations I would be thankful for an answer!
Differents from former fedora packages:
-- verion is stable 0.8.8
-- gtk-windows-decorator is droped
because all windows-manager which i can use as base for gwd (metacity, marco)
are ported to gesettings, in result gwd doesn't work correctly.
So, emerald is the default and only windows-decorator.
E: Unable to locate package compiz-plugins-extra
but i have compiz -fusion -plugins extra install when i install Compiz 0.8.x Experimental plugins i get this error Installing all plugins without prompting.

I just wanted to know how relevant the Compiz development still is under Ubuntu. I am one of the people who enjoy bling (love to show off with the Windows users) but it appears as if there is less happening with Compiz lately.
I was having occasional compiz crashes for a week or two, but as of last night pretty much everything is crashing. Compiz crashes. The crash reporter crashes. Apt, postgres, cron, bash have all logged crash reports in the last day.
