Compiling kernel on AMD PC to be installed on old PentiumII lappy?

Hello.

I have just updated lubuntu to 12.10 beta and during that process I found out that a PAE kernel seems to be mandatory these days. Kernel version "3.2.0-30-generic" was kept so I can work with this machine.

What can I do? Is there a ppa with another kernel flavor available?

I believe I have too many old kernels and would like to remove a few of them. What is the best way do do this?

I'm running Quantal and trying to compile the Raring kernel 3.8.0-rc6 from the git source:

This doesn't look right. Also, XP reports it as .999.

Hi Guys, I have a AMD Semperon LE-1300 processor. Linux is saying I only have 1.006 GHz when my processor is capable of 2.3 GHz. HOW DO I FIX THIS!?!?!?

I used the command cat /proc/cpuinfo to see if it was an application that was manipulating the speed of my processor. and I got this:
