Got a major issue that I need some help with. Here is the situation.
The client has multiple web sites hosted on multiple web servers (virtual machines) running on multiple virtual hosts that connect to a backend domain that have multiple SQL clusters (active / passive) for the multiple websites.
We use Team City 7 for Continuous Intergration. Sometimes I need to bring down the server for maintenance which stirs up complaints. Is anyone using a cluster for these types of servers where there is one database instance, but perhaps a failover cluster for the front end (Tomcat) application servers so that I can take down a server without disrupting service?
I found some real good articles on Mysql load balancing on web but being a new bee could conclude nothing :(:(
I have this requirement where my webapplication running on a tomcat is behind a loadbalancer and I am planning to deploy this application on multiple servers.
This webapp though needs a database ( mysql ) for managing profile and other similar stuff, now i can only have a single master
I am trying to set up a high availability setup(not load balancing, only HA) with 2 tomcat servers. When I google for information, I get tons of links with apache+HAProxy+keepalived setup for linux fronted by a virtual IP. This seems simple enough.
