Hi all,
As per the title. When I close the laptop lid, suspends and all is good if only for awhile. If I leave it for a long while, when I open the lid, comes out of suspend okay but I can only just see the desktop enough to get to the Log Out button, log out and log back in, then all is good again.
Fresh install of Xubuntu 12.04 LTS.
It has been two years since I posted for a problem with suspension for my hp compaq 6720s laptop: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1592875
Since then, the laptop was not capable of suspending on close lid, no matter what ubuntu release I used, It suspended ok when I order it from menu or from command line but no on closing lid.
Two days ago, I think since I received security updates
Hi,
I had Xubuntu 12.10 installed on my Samsung NP-NC110. When I close the laptop lid it always goes to sleep (independently of power source - AC or battery). However I've selected "Lock screen" in power manager, here is a screenshot http://www.freeimagehosting.net/17el3 and it still goes to sleep after lid closing.
I supposed to get laptop working when lid is closed with this setting.
Afternoon all,
I've got a laptop here for Xubuntu installed on it.
What I want is a laptop that will boot up and run rdektop and connect to a windows terminal server.
At start up I have three sessions I can log onto.
* Xfce
* Xterm
* Xubuntu
So far I've configured Xubuntu and created a script that runs when the normal Xubuntu Session Starts.
Hello,
The title of the thread is likely a bit vague so I'll try to explain this as clearly as possible. Here is what I expect to happen:
Boot laptop > Use laptop > Close lid > Open lid > Enter password > Continue using laptop.
However, what is happening is I open the lid and get the desktop wallpaper, but nothing else.
Have been running Ubuntu on my desktop since 9.something... now on 11.04, but have not done any updates for a LONG time... I saw Unity and decided I wanted no part of that! I have a laptop that I installed Xubuntu 12.04 on, and like the Xubuntu MUCH better than Ubuntu... So, decided that I would put Xubuntu on the desktop.
Hi all, first time posting here and new to linux.
My situation: I saved an old Dell Latitude C640 laptop from the garbage and upgraded the RAM to 1Gb and stuck an IDE SSD drive in it (maybe a waste of an SSD but it's faster now) and installed XP first and then Xubuntu alongside it.
I've noticed that watching videos in XP works perfectly, but I get really slow and choppy video in Xubuntu.
Hi *
I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my MacBook Pro 8, 1 when it was released. It has been working well overall, but I have a problem when it comes to suspend and resume operations.
When instructed to (by the closing of the lid etc.), the laptop suspends most of the time.
Hi there,
I have an MSI WInd u100 with Ubuntu 9.04 jaunty on it. Laptopmode is enabled and it can Suspend/Hibernate and Resume without any problem.
I was wondering if there is a way I can get the laptop to go from Suspend state to Hibernate after a given period of time.
