Hi,
I am using lfs live cd for building CLFS Version SVN-20100828-x86_64-Multilib. I was able to build till 10.4.1. Installation of Perl and had to quit due to few errors or possible mistakes on my part.
I wish to the chroot and start over. How do I find out what went wrong and rectify it. I am a BSD user and this is bit trivial for me.
I'm using CLFS-embedded to build a minimal virtual machine--with great results except that my machine seems to be incapable of communicating with a DNS server. (Please note that I haven't been exactly following CLFS as I have been using it as a rough guideline--for example I haven't built it using a cross-compiler toolchain because my target architecture is the same.
Hi all,
I'm on a pure64 CLFS system, and I wish to install IcedTea. There seems to be a circular dependency involving Ant, and BLFS does provide a way to overcome this, but the required binary for the purpose is 32-bit. I couldn't find an appropriate binary for this purpose (Where does BLFS source it's .bin from?). Has anyone successfully installed IcedTea on a 64-bit C/B/LFS system?
Happy Holidays!
I am trying to build CBLFS, I understand that I need to build CLFS first. I have some doubts -
1. Can I use parted magic live cd (x86) to build CLFS-x86_64. Parted loads fast and is flexible. I tried build with LFS Live CD but there are issues building latest stable LFS with 2.6.22 kernel in LFS Live CD. I can use openSUSE as well but I dont have much space in /home.
2.
hey, im very very new in the world of linux. I came from the linux live cd (Tinycore) and very much loved every thing about it. But i want to try new things and i saw the "Linux From Scratch".
and my first stupid question is, what is the difference between LFS and CLFS?
I have an existing Windows 7 GPT installation, which already has a EFI System partition.
I am now trying to install a Linux on a separate harddisk, which is also GPT formatted. I did not find any working way to get grub booting without EFI system partition, so my question is:
Is it possible for grub2 to use the same EFI System partition as windows?
Currently I try to build a embedded Linux from scratch with the instructions from Cross Linux from Scratch.
Everything worked fine until I tried to compile the GCC Cross-Compiler. I want to build the Linux for the Beagleboard-xM...
