Chrome For iOS Market Share Reaches 2.7%

By mid-July, Google’s browser for Apple’s operating system had managed to get about 1.5% of the market and has been adding new users ever since, despite the fact that Apple makes it very hard for its users to switch browsers. Now, according to the latest data from online advertising service Chitika, Chrome for iOS drives 2.7% of all iOS web traffic to the sites in its network. A couple of days ago, Google chrome started celebrating it’s second year anniversary. Google chrome is, no doubt, one of the browsers which is seeing a consistent and steep rise in it’s share in the browser market. We have discussed a lot about Google chrome in Chaaps.

Google just launched an update to Chrome for Android that provides the browser with a strengthened sandbox. Google says this will help ensure that malicious mobile sites remain contained and can’t impact the entire browser. Chrome is one of the most utilized web browsers on the market. When the stable mobile-version was released in June 2012, Android users took the oppurtunity to grab the app, and since then helped it achieve over 100,000 downloads! Google's Chrome may be a relatively new entrant in the browser arena, but already it's edged past Apple's long-standing Safari to assume the third-place spot. That's according to market researcher Net Applications, which recently released year-end data indicating that Chrome now accounts for 4.63 percent of the browser market.
