@cfr, I think this: # optical drives
SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_CDROM}=="1", TAG+="uaccess"
SUBSYSTEM=="scsi_generic", SUBSYSTEMS=="scsi", ATTRS{type}=="4|5", TAG+="uaccess"is supposed to give you access...
hi guys,i got it: https://www.archlinux.org/news/consolek … by-logind/my system worked in a initscripts/systemd mix. i already configured the DAEMONS...etc.
Just an FYI, there is nothing that makes me not want to read a page more than the inclusion of things like "help" in the title.I guess at least you didn't use all capitals or put "critical" in there...

Okay, nevermind. The first time I looked over 70-uaccess.rules, I skipped over the relevent line. Here it is in all its glory # DRI video devices
SUBSYSTEM=="drm", KERNEL=="card*", TAG+="uaccess"

@Trilby, this is why it annoys me. It basically says, "I have an issue, for which I have no expertise necessary to fix or debug... but I'll bet it is this damn squirrely systemd thing... because I don't fully understand it..."

try $ systemd-analyze && systemd-analyze blameto also see how long it takes the initramfs to load, add "timestamp" to the hooks in mkinitcpio.conf.

I think because whether or not you choose to have it forwarded to syslog has nothing to do with whether or not it is going to sendmail that sh*t. So I think what you need to do is add "-m off" to either the $CRONDARGS or simply to the command itself, since you have already copied it to /etc.
