Running 9.10, and can't get USB ports on port replicator for Dell D620 to work.
Charges fine on the dock, but none of the USB ports are functional - any ideas?
I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop I use as a media server/video capture system. It only has 2 USB ports and I have a total of 3 devices I need to connect. The DVC101 works perfectly while plugged directly into the USB port in back of the laptop. Unfortunately it does not get recognized when plugged into a passive or powered USB hub.
I have a laptop with a Nvidia Geforce Go 7900 GS. This graphics card comes with a DVI and a VGA port. For some reason, Ubuntu will not allow me to use the DVI port on this laptop. I can only use the VGA port. In Windows, I can plug two nice widescreen monitors to this laptop, and use them in DualView. Ubuntu will not give me this, and I can only use the VGA monitor.
I have a Acer Aspire 5755G laptop presently set up to use the Intel Sandybridge Mobile graphics - not the nvidia Gforce GT640M which is also available. Display is set 1366 x 768 (16:9). On connecting to my HD digital via the HDMI output (to the TV HDMI input) the laptop graphics switches to 1024X768 (4:3) and there is no picture on the TV.
Makerbot has just announced the Replicator 2.0, a brand new Makerbot Replicator with a larger build plate, coated metal chassis, and improved software as well as better print resolution.
I just downloaded ubuntu 12.10, and I want to install it on my acer aspire laptop. Here's my acer specifications:
-Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor @ 1.86 GHz
-2,5GB of RAM
-500GB HDD
-Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
My question is: can I install ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop with those specs?
I currently have a acer 5755g running windows 8 and specs are as follows:
intel core i5-2430M
nVIDIA GeForce GT540m 1GB VRAM
8GB RAM
750GB HDD
it also has intel graphics card, so is it possible to use both of them at the same time as i am right now?
Also will everything work properly, like the wifi, bluetooth, functions keys etc.
Ok, i had my acer zg5 netbook in parts as I was installing a wifi card out of a macbook pro. that part worked great, heaps better signal and fast too.
Then... for some reason I tried plugging in the mac's laptop display panel.
I am building an application that will be acting as a combined MUA/MTA on different networks. However, many of the networks are with ISP's that block port 25 for SMTP. Therefore I would also like to open up a secondary port so that some of the installs can communicate on that if port 25 is closed.
How do I choose a second port? I know some people use port 26 or port 2525.
