I'm getting pretty annoyed with these voip apps.... I've tried Skype, Dell Voice (Fongo), Viber, Kakao Talk, and many others. I find they're not reliable, because after reboots and whatnot, you get "signed out". You may not know it and its difficult to remember and type passwords/usernames to sign in.
If you need VoIP application that is portable, can be bring anywhere, I suggest you to use this Skype 5 beta portable edition for Windows. This is unofficial portable edition of Skype. You can download this Skype portable from the link provided below this post.
Sprint's Nexus S 4G Android phone will offer the first pre-installed access to the Google Voice VoIP service -- which will soon be available for download onto any CDMA-based Sprint smartphone. Sprint customers can use their existing numbers as Google Voice numbers, and have access to cheap international calls, call screening and routing, and personalized greetings features, says the carrier....
If you are familiar with making voice calls via WiFi, can you please recommend an app to use? I know of Hangout, Skype and Viber but I often use regular phone calld and SMS texting. But recently my buddy had moved to a place where phone reception is very bad. We need to look for an alternative using WiFi. Can you please advise an app to use (even if it's different than the 3 above).
I just got my black Verizon Galaxy S4. I place a call on viber after a restart everything is fine until the call gets disconnected. Then i try to call again via viber it shows ringing then it connects but i cant hear the other party nor they can hear me. Also if im talking on viber and get a normal phone call i cant pick up the phone call nor switch back to viber everything freezes !!!
So I have Paranoid Android 4.3 on my S3. Everything has been perfect for about a month or so until a few days back where Skype started crashing on me. It only crashes when I get into another app. If I stay in Skype it keeps working, so I figured that Skype was broken, and I switched to Viber to try it out, turns out the same thing happens.
