Hi, I'm having problem with my newly installed HTPC which is running Ubuntu Server 11.10 32-bit. The system is overall stable and I haven't experienced any random crashes or freezes.
But I have one major problem, if I do a SFV-check on several SFV-files the system completely freezes.
I have a problem with an SSH session freezing after using it again when it was idle for a while.
The problem is that the session doesn't freeze immediately, I can still use it. But as soon as a command sends more data, it freezes before any output arrives, and I have to restart the terminal.
If have read earlier solutions about MTU, but there, the session freezes everytime.
I have a serial dumb terminal. I use a null modem via a serial port to connect it to my Ubuntu computer. It comes in handy when X freezes and the there is no response using the keyboard. If I can boot from my dumb terminal I can fix my system. What other things can I use my dumb terminal for?

Problem:
Fedora 17 64bit freezes on a regular basis no matter what programs I use. I suddenly can't move the mouse curser, everthing freezes and the display turns off and on again. When a song or a (Youtube-)video is playing, the video freezes too but I can still here the sound.
==> I have to push the reset button on my computer or hold the power button.
I'm still pretty new to Ubuntu, so please bear with me, and explain things like you're talking to a small child.
When I hit minimize on my last open window in Ubuntu 11.10, everything freezes. I can't open a terminal window via Ctrl Alt T, I can't hit the superkey and open Unity, I can't click any of the icons on my panel.

My linux desktop system freezes (aptosid/debian sid) sometimes and after the reboot a can't find any infos about the reason the freeze in messages/dmesg/syslog/Xorg.*.log.
When it "freezes" i can still move the mouse in X and sometimes even move the windows for a short time before the system stops responding.
Hi everybody!
Today I decided to update my Debian Testing into Fedora 18. The problem is that when the live cd is loading, suddenly, it freezes. First, the cursor appears and then, the whole computer hangs. I tried to download again the iso, and burn it again into my USB.
