Changing boot-up refresh rate on F17?

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Running F17, and when it boots up, it appears that it's trying to boot into a 1600x1280 resolution, so I have tried modifying the grub.conf file to force it into 1280x1024 which is the max supported by my monitor, by using the "vga=795" parameter on the boot line. But this isn't working. I have also tried vga=794, thinking maybe the color depth was affecting this somehow, but it's not. I think it's trying to run with a higher refresh rate, but my monitor only supports 65Hz for 1280x1024 mode, so I want to force it to 1280x1024 and 60Hz. But I can't find how to set the Hz thro (HowTos)
