I have problem with keyboard layout "English (US), English (international AltGr dead keys)". I add it, and all works fine, but when i restart xubuntu 12.04 LTS keyboard layout "English (US), ..." is missing and all keyboard layout settings is set to default.
I need two keyboard layouts: SK, EN (US), but after restart only SK is available. EN not present.
I use Colemak for English layout and standard Korean layout. If I were to use Qwerty and Korean, it works out of the box. I can switch between layouts by pressing Shift+Space with the default Samsung keyboard.
So I basically followed this thread's instruction to get Colemak to work.
My keyboard (HP bluetooth keyboard), however, does not generate a separate .kl file in the keylayout folder.
For a long time, I've had my keyboard configured to use the layout currently known as "English (international AltGr dead keys)." I like this layout because without any modifier keys, it's identical to the US English keyboard, but when I hold Right Alt I can get accented letters and other characters not available on a standard US English keyboard.
In Oneiric, however, the layout is messed up.
I'm wanting to learn Dvorak VERY badly. The problem I'm having is I have a 108 keyboard. All of Ubuntu's keyboard layouts (for Dvorak) have one extra key on the bottom row. Is there an official layout for Ubuntu which uses the default 108 keyboard from the US?
What is the best keyboard layout (in all your humble opinions) for use with the Swype/swipe keyboard? QWERTY keeps letters too far away from each other. I kind of like Dvorak, but has there one been created specifically for swiping?
Thanks!
Hallo
I've got problems with the kdm in fedora 18.
I use english language for the howl system. But I've a swedish keyboard, because did set the kb-layout with system-config-keyboard to swedish. It worked fine for tty and for KDE4 it self. But it did not change the layout for kdm.
Where are the keyboard layout settings of kdm located? How can I change it?
Hi.I'm using dvorak programmer keyboard. Some cli utilities (for example, alsamixer) don't have an option to rebind the keys.Is there a way to "loadkeys" for just one process?
I have Ubuntu 11.10. I have an English keyboard and have set the keyboard layout to English (UK) in the System settings -> Keyboard Layout. It is the only layout listed.
Recently my keyboard has gone to US layout.
From terminal using sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration I changed keybord layout to US Dvorak, but I could not find Programmer Dvorak as a choise anywhere. Btw Dvorak for programmers is a special layout.Any ideas how to?(this small text took me several minutes to write using Dvorak, learing new stuff can be verry hard)
