Do I understand correctly? When some new version of program comes out, it is available as a source code only. Then distros' maintainers download it and every maintainer builds his own version of the program for his distro. And every maintainer makes changes in the program, so Arch's program differs from the same program, built for Ubuntu.
I keep going back and forth on this, but the truth is i don’t have time for hamster anymore.

I've been writing an occasional "Ask a kernel maintainer" column on the
lwn.net weekly kernel page.
KShowmail, a POP3 mail checker for the KDE featuring detailed information about servers, complete mail headers, filters and more, is now at version 4.1.
Unfortunately, KShowmail 4.1 is in danger of becoming one of the last versions launched.
Please post build errors/broken packages on the correct ccr page, so the maintainer can fix his packages (emails are send to the maintainer for any post)Many ccr maintainers are not active on the forums, so do not know of any issue with their package.
