As we're aware postfix doesn't support SNI (Server Name Indication), which means that if you'd define a certificate, it will be used for all domain names that you have on that server, which could be bad for people not willing to pay big bucks to purchase fancy certificates.
I cofigure a postfix/dovecot. I'm using default dovecot certificate for testing. but when i try to restart service integrity fail. But I'm not sure where is the problem.
I followed DigitalOcean guide. Where the problem, what parameter must be changed?
I'm attempting to build a local network email server for my personal network. What I need from it is a pop3 interface which I can access via my workstation, and a SMTP interface for it to recieve mail.
I am currently attempting to use dovecot and postfix to accomplish this.
I installed Postfix/Dovecot locally on Ubuntu server, I can mail from Ubuntu server to any user in my local users database (/etc/passwd) and I can receive messages well (by using mail command). On MUA (thunderbird, outlook, evolution) I can only send messages without receive any message, I only receive messages by typing mail command on the server.
I am installing a new mail server using postfix dovecot , mysql and roundcube 0.9.5 as mail client with the smtp-auth functionality and below are my configurations.I am failing to authenticate and login using the roundcube mail client
# 2.0.19: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
# OS: Linux 3.5.0-23-generic x86_64 Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS
auth_mechanisms = plain login
disable_plaintext_auth = no
