We have a Fujitsu Primergy RX100 S7 server. It has two Gigabit Ethernet ports: Intel 82574L Gigabit Ethernet, Intel 82579LM Gigabit Ethernet. Cards use e1000e driver. I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 on the server. Both network cards fail to connect to (different) ethernet switches reporting there is no carrier.
Is there a known issue? Any workaround?
We currently have Brocade 200E fiber switches, connecting 2 EMC CLARiiONs to 4 VMware ESXi hosts. We are looking into new storage options using iSCSI with our existing ethernet network, including the possibility of gradually upgrading to 10 gigabit.
I am trying to get an Gig-E network between two buildings that are approximately 260 ft. away. While some TRENDnet switches failed to be able to connect to each other over Cat 6 at that distance, two Netgear 5-port Gig-E switches do so just fine. However, it still fails after I put in place APC PNET1GB ethernet surge protectors at each end before the line connects to the respective switches.
My motherboard ethernet input has broken so I am now trying to use an USB adapter.
The TRUlink ethernet adapter (USB 2.0 10/100/1000 Ethernet Adapter) that I am trying to use does not seem to be working in Ubuntu 11.04.
The output from "lspci | grep Ethernet" is:
Code:
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
Hi, coming here last time fixed the wifi, so hoping some one here can also help me get my ethernet problems fixed :)
In my present location (at work) my ubuntu machine can't connect through ethernet.
I have waited until now to upgrade my two server bare metal OSs from F16 to F17 since I have had good luck with all of my workstations and VMs over the last few months. These were both built late last year, so both have only ever had clean F16 installations on them. SuperMicro server boards with two onboard NICs and an Intel PCIe dual NIC card (82576) added in.
Hi,
My machine has 3 Ethernet Controllers, one of the controller is not configurable.
Hi to all,
I'm new..
I have just installed backtrack 5r3 in a Hp pavilion dv9000 but I'm not able to connect to the lan..
With the lspci command I find this:
02:00.0 Network controller: intel corporation pro/wireless 3945ABG
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: intel corporation 82573L Gigabit Ethernet Controller
What should I do to activate the card?
thank you
Simone
