Ok, so it's just the leaked 4.4 launcher. On the Max, at least for me, all you have to install the launcher, attempt to open it (you will be met with an error,) and then the next time you attempt to open it by pressing home, it should work without a problem. No pureftpd.log file present, neither after a restart of pureftpd.
Pureftpd was running normallly.
