CentOS 5.1 x86_64 pxeboot

Hi
i have redhat EL desktop 4.6 version.For tftp i want to add rtl8102 nic drivers
in initrd.img, for redhat desktop. i am new one in linux so if somebody
write step by step configuration for extracting initrd , adding nic and make again initrd.img and vmlinuz.

I am trying to setup Slacware 13.1 x86_64 to a encrypted partition. I used the README_CRYPT.TXT howto : http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackwar...ADME_CRYPT.TXT

At the step when I create an initrd.gz I get this error:

I understand that initrg.img is a temporary file system that linux uses at the beginning to load up all the hardware modules.

I also understand that the kernel vmlinuz which is usually a symbolic link to another file i.e. vmlinuz-huge-smp.2.6.29.6-smp file, image is the actual kernel, the core of system.

I install fedora on my usb-hdd. Sometimes i boot it from real machine, sometimes i boot from virtual machine (kvm).

When I boot from real machine, hdd driver is usb-storage, when i boot from virtual machine hdd drivers are ata_generic and pata_acpi.

i tried to compile linux kernel 2.6.31 on Fedora 12
the make , make modules and modules install ran successfully
but
problem with make install
while trying to create image it looks for mkinitrd command which is not available
i downloaded and installed the mkinitrd pckg and
make install was now successful

I updated my fc12 x86_64 server today, and one of the updated included kernel 2.6.31.12-174.2.3.fc12.x86_64 from the previous one of kernel-2.6.31.9-174.fc12.x86_64.

When I boot with that kernel, it stops when my logical volumes that are built on a raid 5 array (linux software raid built using mdadm) are not there.
