Hi
I have created a RHEL6 machine that is hosted on VMWare player that in turn runs off my Windows 7 PC.
When I try and mount the CDROM on the RHEL6 box I get the following output:
Code:
[twood@localhost ~]$ mount /dev/cdrom/media
mount: can't find /dev/cdrom/media in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
[twood@localhost ~]$
Here is the output from the /etc/fstab file:

What is the best way to enable a cdrom/dvd/memory stick to be shared via samba (and nfs?) with selinux running? Ideally I'd like the user to choose to share it (by running a script, but preferrably be enabling sharing when right-clicking the device)... but for the moment I'd be happy to always share the cdrom drive...
Actually I have this "link" from /dev/

I want to mount an iso (with mount or furiusiso) as my /dev/cdrom,because some software (webclients) cant browse to my mounted folders as nautilus.

After updating from Lubuntu 12.04 to Lubuntu 12.10 the place where CD-ROM is automounted changed, breaking some applications (!).
In Lubuntu 12.04 CD-ROM would get mounted as '/media/cdrom'.
In Lubuntu 12.10 CD-ROM would get mounted as '/media/USER/TITLE',
(for example '/media/jnareb/Lubuntu 12.10 amd64')
How to configure udev or udisk2 to get back to original 12.04 version?
Hello
I again hope i am putting this post in the correct forum. I am a big simh user in the directions it says to use dd to create iso's of all the cd's and change the line in the ini file to use the file needed. In fc16 i was able to access the cdrom directly by just using the path /dev/cdrom0 i also noticed that it had a sepret entry for the cdrw.
PlayOnLinux does not find the virtual CD-ROM it creates. If I chose "/media/cdrom", or "OFFICE14", or even "/media", PlayOnLinux continues to display the error "Cannot find cdrom". It has no idea where it is mounted. Please help.
