Write the PKGBUILDs youself the way you think it should be done, and submit them in a feature request in the bugtracker. So, there is no standard way to build these packages from base + base-devel?I'm wonder how to make sure every package work well?
Into: I like learning by reading sources. But it's tiring of searching them across internet splited on many many different project sites. I'd love to see central browsable repo with sources of many many apps in one place.
When someone want to find documentation of some Linux tool, best
place is : man toolname.
PlayonLinux is a ccr app, issues with those/broken packages/missing deps, make sure to leave a message for the maintainer there. Chakra just moved to libpng 1.5, so there probably will be an adjustment needed for the PKGBUILD in ccr.Or if you just updated, then ofc you need to rebuild all your ccr apps depending on libpng/libtiff.Focuswriter will need a rebuild for libpng update, will be don
Ok, I'll admit it, I have no idea where to start lol GraySky's, PhilM's and the Gitorious pkgbuilds are all pretty different, except for the general kernel compilation and packaging. I keep flip-flopping on which one to base it off of and I'm confusing myself and feel like I'm wasting time.
only for you --> http://chakra-linux.org/ccr/packages.php?ID=3946next time try aur2ccr to import package from arch to chakra, it's easy!
Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, elasticsearch is available in Arch's AUR. I read that it is not necessarily a good idea to use the aur2ccr if you don't know what you are doing. I am an apt/.deb person, so I don't know what I am doing with your package installs yet. ;-)I think with your advice, I will wait until the ISOs are released with the systemd switch.
I think that that's behaving as expected, all of the -git PKGBUILDs I've seen pull the source from git inside the build() function which means it would take a change to makepkg and a rewrite of all the PKGBUILDs which pull from any kind of VCS for it to be possible to do what you want.

Unfortunately, the upstream site mentioned in this PKGBUILD seems to be down, and without a URL for the original friidump-0.4.0.rar file, this package cannot be uploaded to CCR. If you (or someone else here) can upload that file to some website (not some fileshare nonsense site, but a real one), it should be easy to add it to CCR, but until then, I can't think of any way to do so.
