Starting this Friday, July 27th, Carphone Warehouse will carry the Nexus 7 tablet. Like many retailers, they will only offer the 16GB version, which happens to be sold out in the Google Play Store. You can purchase it outright for £199, but for those of you that need a constant connection, you can take the Nexus 7 for free along with a MiFi for a monthly charge of £20.50.
Information regarding the upcoming LG Nexus device doesn’t appear to be slowing whatsoever. The latest is from a tipster who sent the above Carphone Warehouse inventory listing to The Verge. You will notice the device is referred to as the LG Nexus 4. Although this sounds plausible, we really don’t know if this is the final name or not.
We saw the name LG Nexus 4 in a leaked Carphone Warehouse inventory page, and it just popped up again in a French newspaper called Le Figaro.
According to a leak from UK based phone retailer Carphone Warehouse, our Nexus 7 storage problems are soon to be over. The image above clearly lists a 32gb version of the flagship Google tablet and although it doesn’t say how much the new version will cost, I’m willing to bet it’ll be around $300, which is still less than its rival, the 32gb iPad.
During its Q3 2012 earnings call, Google’s Larry Page, whose voice still sounded very hoarse and is clearly not back to where it was before a year ago, used the first couple of minutes of the call to highlight some of Google’s hardware initiatives. Not only did he put in a plug for Google’s new Chromebook, but also for the Nexus 7 tablet.
A few weeks ago, Google briefly made a “Google Now” topics page available on the web and then took it down again. The page showed a list of topics Google believed you were interested in, based on your search history. Now this feature is back, but it’s a bit different from the leaked page.
We already heard that Samsung would be releasing more colors for the Galaxy S III. The Garnet Red version is now available exclusively at Carphone Warehouse in the UK and is available at the same price as other colors and on all the carriers that Carphone Warehouse serves.
When it comes to releases, Carphone Warehouse seems to always give us a good indication on dates. Sony already announced the Xperia E budget phone, but didn’t tell us anything more than to expect it Q1 2013. Well Carphone Warehouse has a page to pre-register for the dual-SIM device, and it clearly states that it’s expected February 2013.
I just told you about Three UK’s pre-order deal for the Galaxy S III so what do you say we up the ante a little on the next one? Carphone Warehouse is also taking pre-oreders but this time it is for the unlocked, SIM-free version of the phone and will retail for £499 outright, or for as little as £36 a month. What makes this deal so much better than Three’s you ask?
