http://www.unix.com – Hi, I not sure if this is the right place to ask this question and if I'm wrong I apologize. I'm a systems administrator and have about 5 years of experience. I have worked on Solaris HP-UX *linux Visualization ( VMWare ) And I'm comfortable with shell and Perl. Of late, amidst the cloud talk and how the Unix/Linux system administrator jobs would be, I have been quite lost. I now plan to either move to programming or application. 1] Programming : I have no experience in programming and have to learn C ( thats where I have to start) 2] Other option is application ( J Boss, Apache, T (HowTos)

Hello! I am looking for opinions and I guess some clarity too.I want to learn programming in Qt, as I intend to develop some applications for work as well as, as a hobby, for Linux. Hello, I looking for becoming a Solaris system administrator. Background: I consider myself an entry-level Linux system administrator.

I don't know if I start my studies with Solaris 10 or 11.

I am an advanced web-programmer (learned basic C++, very comfortable with OOP, etc) but I have no experience in developing full-fledged standalone applications, especially in Linux. I am very interested in contributing to the community but not sure how to apply my programming/design knowledge to Linux. What are some good resources to learn/tips? Thanks!
