http://forum.xda-developers.com – Hello everyone! As I don't have enough posts to be able to post in the dev forums, I am putting this in the general forum to help find an answer. This past weekend I found Captain_Throwbacks 5.07 Stock rooted deodexed rom here on XDA and absolutely love it. However after flashing and installing Titanium Backup, TB indicates I don't have root access. Thus I downloaded RootChecker and it also confirms I don't have root access. My phone is indeed rooted as I rooted it with the S-OFF over a year and half ago, have ClockWorks recovery installed and flashing any other rom on the phone s (HowTos)

I ran the all-in-one toolkit v2.0 to root my at&t htc one x but my phone is showing not rooted. I followed all the steps and successfully unlocked the bootloader then proceeded to flash the TWRP recovery. When I try to run apps that require root my phone says it's not rooted. I downloaded RootChecker app from the playstore and it says phone is not rooted.

Ok so other than my initial hello this is my first post ever. I have just rooted my Samsung infuse using Odin on gb 2.3.6 everything went smoothly and my phone is up and working fine afterwards but....now what? I have my phone rooted. I have superuser and downloaded a couple root apps ie Titanium backup, root explorer, screenshot it. I foze all my bloatware.

I installed stock OTA JB a couple of days ago and lost root access. I tried using Voodoo to restore root but that failed. Finally I used Wugs tool and it seemed to be successful. Titanium Backup is working as rooted as so do a couple of other root apps.

I just installed Barnicle, and when I went to run it, it indicated that I was not rooted.

Hey everyone new to the forum but not forums in general. I searched but didn't really find what i was looking for so here goes. I have the droid razr maxx and im wondering if its a good idea to root the phone? I have never rooted a phone before so this would be my first time. Also can it be done from the phone itself or will i need a pc?

So here's the deal modders and forum members....

Tried a couple of custom kernels to get my Sola rooted but every kernel had some or the other issue..

So here's what I did to keep the root and to solve the issues...

1) Fastbooted with custom kernel to get rooted 2) Flashed with stock firmware. Tft file (only ticked kernel nothing else) so that's the stock kernel of my firmware.

just updated bionic to ICS .246 via RSD. was originally running stock GB rom other than it being rooted. I tried rooting ICS but im not sure whats happened. titanium backup says the phone is rooted but i cannot uninstall any of the junk apps nor make any changes usuing SQLite. i’ve tried FDR and rooting it numerous times using droid razr root, razrs edge and motofail ICS.

I was looking to Root my new (Referb) phone from PlatinumTel

The phone Samsung Galaxy Prevail that came from PlatinumTel ($54.00) was already Rooted but I had to download the superuser from the Google Play market before I could use the Tools.

I verified the root access then used Rooted tools successfully: Titanium backup, adaway, Link2SD etc.

i used the all in one kit and had no issues unlocking the bootloader or flashing a recovery....how do i boot into recovery also???

I can find plenty of info on how to root the N4. All of them assume that you have used the phone and set it up.

I want to root it before even using it. Is that possible? I can back up, but there wouldn't really be anything to restore. Can you do it without having to access an account at Play?
