Hello,
I bought a new Toshiba Satellite C870-15J with Windows 7 installed.
Made a dual boot with Xubuntu 12.04.
When I shut down Xubuntu, the system seems to turn itself completely off, but after some seconds I hear a click, and the system reboots itself.
The same when I shut down via the terminal with "sudo shutdown -h now".
In the power manager I changed the value for the onn-off butto
I've had a search through the forums and have found a few posts on shutdown and reboot problems but nothing quite like this.My #! is newly installed - haven't run the cb-welcome script yet - 64 bit Waldorf 20120806 on a Toshiba Satellite L505 but ... ... I have installed Playonlinux and Wine from Synaptic and LibreOffice, Dropbox and Chrome from the menu.
Hi there,
Offlate I installed F11 i586 on my laptop. F11 shares the hard disk with Vista Home Premium 32-bit. The problem is that when running F11 (or even Ubuntu), my system shut off suddenly(not a normal OS shut down, but a sudden power off without any warning). This could have been a hardware trouble(heating) but it doesn't happen with Vista.
Machine specifications:
I am using toshiba satellite L650 and i had installed bubuntu 12.04. I had also installed all the available updates.
My problem is that the battery status is not shown. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Ubuntu on Toshiba Satellite L650-BT2N23
I am new to Ubuntu and was given a Toshiba Satellite L650-BT2N23 that I was hoping to use Ubuntu on. I installed 10.10 but wifi, the integrated intel graphics, and the SD card reader don't seem to work.
First I need to get wifi working; from looking around the forums I tried booting from a livecd, but no wifi card seen.
Hi,
I just installed the Virtualization 'suite' and began to use Virtual Machine Manager.
Very interesting stuff, so I've got some questions :
- Shut Down / Force Off : Sometimes the guest OS hangs, so I I try to use the 'shut down' option, in 90% of the case it doesn't work. So after loosing patience I click on 'Force Off'.
Yesterday, I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on a Toshiba Satellite L650. After the installation, my sound worked correctly. After some fiddling to get the internet to work, I installed all the updates.
After the updates were installed (which included a new kernel), plugging in the headphones didn't mute the speakers anymore. The sound-quality however was still splendid.
