So after a fresh Scientific Linux 6.3 Desktop install, I:
yum install rpmforge-release && yum update
and
yum install epel-release.noarch
then:
yum install wine gparted cups-pdf && echo 'includepkgs=nss-mdns wine* gparted cups-pdf' >> /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo
OK!
I am using ubuntu 12.04 and I have noticed that sometimes application doesn't start even after clicking the icon, what might be the problem. For example when I try to open Gparted through the unity even after providing the correct password it doesn't show up but when I try to open through the terminal sudo gparted it opens up nicely after providing the password.
I just installed Xubuntu 12.04.1 and updated and installed all my usual apps including gparted.
Running gparted from the menu and running from terminal with 'gksudo gparted' results in the same behavior with no output to the command line. All I get is the gparted program scanning all devices indefinitely.
I have let it run for over ten minutes with no change in behavior.
i try opining gparted 1-look for Gparted in the system menu.2-click on Gparted.3-put my passwd m-passwd in Gparted.

GParted LiveCD 0.14.0 now comes with the ability to move, resize, check, create, and delete Physical Volumes under Logical Volume Management – LVM2 PV.
GParted seems to be the more robust and feature-rich application of the two, is there a reason as to why GParted is not installed by default in Ubuntu?
