My brother gave me a rooted HTC Desire. When I pop up the bootloader it says this:

I am under the impression that certain ROMs only work with certain HBoot versions (and typically bootloop when they don't work).

I have HTC Desire S. After OTA Upgrade HBOOT 2.00.2000 . So revolutionary method did not work. Unlocked using HTCDev.com
Used AndroidFlasher with CWM Recovery and rooted my device.
Can i simply install another custom ROM?
If no, How do i get S-OFF now? Or I will have to revert back to Stock ROM and root via another method now?

Hi guys I kinda stuck here.
I tried to Unlock and flash my HTC Desire HD but I think something went really wrong.
Here's my actual status:
I unlocked my Bootloader using HTCDev to flash the 4EXT Recovery
After unlocking in I tried the Ace Advanced Hack Kit (also with a re-locked Bootloader as suggested on the webpage) but it never worked
for some reasons all the PD98IMG.zip seem not to be app

I've got a Desire S with hboot version 2.00.2002 that I'm planning on rooting. The confusing thing is it's already s-off with *** LOCKED *** highlighted in pink at the top but I thought HTC phones were s-on by default. Do I just skip using revolutionary and flash 4ext then root or do I need to do anything else?

Hi all, having a problem rooting my inspire 4g, when in Fastboot , it shows the phone is S-OFF but I have no root access.
I used the root checker app, and it says that my device is not rooted. I then used EasyAceRootTool, but when I select to root
my device, it says that ''the hboot needs to be updated'' and it then starts a download from HTCDEV.
