First time poster here. I am trying to run Ubuntu on Windows 7 64-bit using Wubi. On my first couple of tries it gave me the "Extraction failed with code: 2". Then I manually downloaded the iso ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso (choosing the 64-bit version from the dropdown) to my desktop where the wubi.exe is. I'm still having the same issue.
I'm running Windows XP with all the latest patches.
I downloaded Wubi to my computer, installed it and ran wubi. Wubi downloaded the Ubuntu (I assume it was the 12.10 release) file and extracted the Ubuntu files. Next, it asked to restart the computer.

Hi,
I have been very happy with wubi 10.04 running alongside Windows (on two laptops running XP and 7, respectively).
Before finally moving to wubi 12.04 I'd like to run my old 10.04 together with the new version by using triple boot (XP /wubi 10.04 / wubi 12.04) or - on the other laptop (WIn7/ wubi 10.04 / wubi 12.04).
How can I do that?

I have Windows 7 in my laptop with that I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 using WUBI with partition.

Hi,
I installed ubuntu 12.04 64-bit version with wubi, and when I try to compile something, it is 10 times slower than 11.10 32-bit version.
If I run a simulation, I can see it lags every 0.5 seconds.
I have 64-bit cpu, and installed from a 64-bit windows7.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Do I need to switch back to 32-bit version with wubi?
I've been trying to install Ubuntu onto my laptop. About a year ago I used wubi and installed Ubuntu and everything was working fine except occasionally Ubuntu would not boot and get stuck on some "PCI Port Error" (Something like that can't really remember now). Anyways, I got frustrated with the inconsistent start up of Ubuntu so I decided to uninstall wubi on my laptop.
Hello!
I installed Ubuntu 12.10 via wubi. Because of some problems with the wifi connection I chose to uninstall it. I started wubi again and it said that I have to uninstall ubuntu before installing it again. So I agreed to uninstall ubuntu without installing a new version.
i am unable to install through wubi
here is the wubi log attached with this POST
