centos 6 server 64 bit
running transparent proxy: squid-3.1.10-19.el6_4.x86_64
machine: sun x2100 M2 server
the problem I have with this proxy machine is slowness. It goes nice and fast for a couple of days and then on the 3rd day or so of running the internet slows down to a snails pace. I've tried restarting squid but it made no difference.
Hello everyone, I first want to thank you all that reply to my post in advance.
I have a squid proxy installed with an isc-dhcp-server as well and it is working awesome. I have put a whitelist to work with the proxy and it is doing its job but I am having an issue with connecting the proxy to email clients.
Tried running Ubuntu server 12.04 and CentOS 6.4 on a ol'Dell PowerEdge 2650 with 2xNICs. The machine is used as a proxy server with Squid 3.1 running Everything runs fine, except it runs into trouble from time to time. Every few hours or so, the machine simply refuses connection from some of the PC workstations. I can ping the machine from anywhere of my network, but no ssh and proxy...
I have installed squid 3.1 and I am seeing only TCP_Miss in the access.log. Also, do I need to setup nameservers on the client machine along with proxy in order to access internet? Because without doing this I cannot access internet through proxy. I have specified dns_nameservers in squid.conf.
I have configure /etc/sysconfig/ifconfig.enp2s0 in my LFS system on VMWare player and also export http_proxy to my proxy server. But I can't ping to server. Have I do any additional configuration to connect to proxy server ?
Is it possible this is because of my virtual machine or wrong kernel configuration.
