http://askubuntu.com – I am using ubuntu 12.04 and after using browser and listening to songs for sometime...I can't move totem from the title bar..When clicking on the title bar it Lowers....but I can use alt+left mouse button to move it!....I experienced the same thing with Skype too..there may be more apps including the browser that have the same problem...Is this because of the compiz?... there is another thing....after restarting PC, I have to re-setup the hover effects (I have setup show desktop when hovering on the bottom left,show windows on bottom right, Show work-spaces on top right by using ubuntu tweak (HowTos)

I just installed MAC OS theme for 12.04, everything seems to be fine but I am unable move the launcher at the bottom just like in MAC OS which is still at left hand side of the screen. Any clue how do I move the same?

I am having issues with 12.10.

The mouse seems to work on some parts of Ubuntu and not others. for example, I can open apps using the left home bar thing, and if they are full-screen, with the button, I can navigate through folders, but if I open a web browser, I cannot click on anything in the browser, though I can use the keyboard and tab around.

I've been having an issue with clicking and dragging icons and windows on my desktop. What ends up happening is I will click and hold on an icon and begin to drag it. The icon does not move. I let go of the mouse button, click on it again, and it immediately opens up (almost like it was double clicked).

I'm looking for an alternative for changing windows move key (as seen here: How to disable window move with alt + left mouse button?).

This seems to be possible directly on Ubuntu 11.04. I really don't want to install CompizConfig just for one single thing...

This is quite annoying. For some reason I can not hold anything with my mouse.

For example.

I can not drag a window by holding its title bar. I can not move the scroll bar of any window by mouse. I can not even select text Alt+Click on a window does not move it.

All these tasks are related to dragging. And this dragging is not working.

I am putting a new system together and I made the mistake of installing a 'newer' version of Ubuntu without first checking it out. I am currently used to using version 10,04 which I have on my computer, but for my wife's new computer I installed 12.04 as this was the latest LTS version.

When I put the cursor on Unity launcher (I'm using Ubuntu 12.10) to see all the applications, it doesn't move in a vertical way but it remains immovable. The launcher works only if put the cursor on the center of the icon application, but if move the cursor on the left screen it doesn't work well.

I just installed 12.04 on an Alienware m14x, I use a Cyborg MMO7 mouse. When the mouse is plugged in I can click on the launcher bar stuff on the left but once a window is open I can't do anything with it. I cant close it or move to other windows without alt tab.

I have tried editing the xorg file thing, but it didn't work.
