Hello everyone,
I have been trying for the last 3 days to get ubuntu to work on my notebook, a macbook pro 9,2 (with ssd if that makes any difference). I have no problem with the installation as I made it install from USB stick or directly from the Live CD, both 12.04 and 13.04.
I'm looking to install Linux on my Macbook Pro in a Dual Boot config. I've previously asked this question in a different fashion here: Dual Boot Fedora 16 with OS X rEFIt.
However, it didn't really get much attention and seems to have fallen of the radar.
I am trying to run the ubuntu 12 live cd on my early 2008 macbook.
My macbook 4,1 (early 2008), has a 2.1 ghz intel core 2 duo, and an intel gma x3100 graphics card. I installed refit with no problems.
However, after I choose the linux icon, I immediately get a black screen with a white cursor. The cd winds down and then nothing. No response.
I'm trying to dual boot Ubuntu 12.04 on my Macbook(which is a Mid 2007 model with Intel Core 2 dual and currently running Lion).
Hello All,
Here is the deal. I'm trying to dual boot Snow Leopard and Ubuntu on an old mac I have (It's a 2008 Core Duo Plastic Blackbook, version 4,1). I just purchased a new hard drive, installed it and put Snow Leopard on. I then partitioned the hard drive and installed rEFIt, which worked great.
I am attempting an install of Ubuntu 12,10 on a non retina MacBook Pro 9,1. This is an Ubuntu only install without the use of refit or refind.
The install disc boots and the installation proceeds without any problems. Once complete, I bless the boot partition under OSX from the install media and reboot.
Upon rebooting, I get dumped to a black screen with flashing cursor.
Hi, i'm having problems to install F12 on my Macbook 5,2.
In the better situation I started the F12 one time after installation, and nevermore.
In my last attempt, I follow it:
>First I installed MAC OSX snow leopard, with 2 partitions in HD;
>Installed rEFIt and following the tutorial that I found on WEB, I copied rEFIt to EFI hidden partition;
