Dear All,
I am unable to run both F12 and Vista as a dual boot system, and would love to know if anyone has managed to do so as it is driving me mad trying to find a way of doing it!
I have been running older versions of Fedora and Vista sucessfully for a couple of years as a dual boot on the same hard drive and decided to upgrade to F12 over Christmas.
I'm trying to install Linux alongside Windows 8 on my new Asus Zenbook UX32VD, which has both an Intel HD 4000 and a NVidia 620M
I've been having quite a few problems booting up linux via USB so I can install it.
Hi
I got an acer aspire 4310 with vista pre installed.
I installed fedora 10 on the D:/ drive by setting the D:// drive as free space within vista and then installed fedora 10. So now I have dual boot vista and fedora using grub.
How can I delete vista and install Fedora 12 on that C:// partition and be able to keep and boot my fedora 10.
Hi guys,
I have a dual-boot machine, with Vista and Fedora 11, which is working great. I use GRUB as the boot manager, as Fedora was installed after Vista. So far, so good..
I am trying to install Linux on Lenovo Ideapad Z575 (AMD).
When I run Ubuntu or Fedora from a LiveCD, I got some initial screens (purple screen with small icon for Ubuntu, some information screen from Fedora), and then.... nothing. For Ubuntu, I have a black screen, although I hear the Ubuntish sound when the login screen appears.
I've been trying to install Ubuntu 12.10 on a laptop for a friend, but I can't seem to get it to display anything. In order to make the installer work, I had to run it in nomodeset mode, otherwise the screen was almost completely black. I could very dimly see the install screen, but barely.
I'm newbie here.
I've searched many web for my problem.
I've tried several times to install Ubuntu.
I used Wubi, and the result is always black screen after go trough the Boot manager and choose ubuntu.
I also tried using disc image so i can boot from disc. It's not start to install.
Hey All,
I have been running fedora and had it automatically update from 11 to 12 but now I can't really do much in the environment, so I decided to reinstall from disc. I tried the dvd but my dvd rom wouldn't read it. So I did it with cd but the rom gave out after one disc was installed and nothing comes up on the computer since the install is ruined? Black screen.
