So, here's my deal: Trying to force my Ubuntu install to use 1360x768. It's a dual boot situation with Windows 7 in an Acer Aspire x1200. The Windows install uses the correct resolution but the one Ubuntu uses pushes parts off screen.
How do I force it to use 1360x768?
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and when I try to change my resolution in NVIDIA X server settings, I only get the native one (1600x900). When I had 12.04 installed, all resolutions were available in the drop down list. My goal is to have twinview working again.
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 on my Macbook Air, which has a Nvidia Geforce 9400M videocard. I am using the restricted driver (185).
The problem is that I can use my Dell WFP2408WFP as external display but only with a resolution of 1600x1200 and not its native 1920x1200 resolution (which the Macbook Air does support).
Hello,
I recently upgraded to 12.04.
Post upgrade, my display resolution is 1024x768. In the display settings menu, I do not get any other option for higher resolution.
I was always using higher resolution before.
I use onboard graphics....Intel Corporation 82G33/G31 Express Integrated Graphics
Please suggest what I should be doing.

My system was fine till I installed the Nvidia driver.
Now the display resolution has changed to 640x480
and I am unable to revert it to 1366x768.
Asus X53SC-SX492D
Resolution 1366x768
Nvidia Geforce GT 520MX
Driver version 295.33
Edit: Using Ubuntu 12.04
I has instaled ubuntu in my desktop, but my monitor don't pass more than 800x600 resolution.
My monitor is good on 1360x768! I need a help, how i put on 1380x768 resolution!
At the beginning my screen resolution is 1680x 945 in Ubuntu 12.04. I found the computer is really hot then I try to install a new Nvidia display driver and installed bumblebee. I am not sure it's right approach or not. Then my display resolution is automatically adjusted to 1080 x 768.
After that I cannot select the original resolution.
I'm new to Ubuntu and I cannot figure out why it won't allow me to set my resolution to 1280x1024. I've looked at countless forums and nothing has helped. I have a laptop with an Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller. There's no driver updates or anything along those lines.
I have a Dell laptop with a resolution of 1600 x 900 and I have a second monitor as Dell 24". The resolution that Ubuntu is configured in a virtual box is 1024 * 800. How can I fix the resolution on the Dell monitor to get a higher resolution?
