Hi all,I have a Canon MP600 printer/scanner connected via USB to a small print- and scan-server running Arch (last update was yesterday). The printer is shared over the network and can be accessed from a Windows 7 client. But from time to time after 1-2 prints the printer crashes. I that happens, only a power disconnect can bring it back.
I have Fedora 17, KDE. I open Printer Configuration and choose New Printer. I a CUPS server error, "There was an error during the CUPS operation: ' cups-authorization-canceled'. The printer is plugged in.
I previously added a Photosmart-C2400 sucessfully.
I do not have a solution to your problem but I would suggest to point a browser to 127.0.0.1:631 and configure CUPS from that. You will inteact directly with CUPS and it is better for debugging. Now can you see your printer from there?
Hello all,
For printing I use a print server which gives access to hundreds of different printers throughout the office. I see them all in cups or in the KDE printer configuration.
But in OpenOffice there is only a 'Generic printer' which prints on my default printer, but without any of the fancy options of the driver.
I have openSUSE 11.2 and printer Brother HL-2040 connected to my openSUSE laptop. It was correctly recognized by manufacturer and model and was "automagically" installed by downloading the appropriate driver. Whenever I click "print" its name correctly appears on the page on which you choose where to send the print jobs to. And when I click "print" it prints...
I am running 9.04 x64 on a Dell Inspiron 1720. My local (USB) printer is a Brother HL-5140 using the driver "Brother HL-5140 Foomatic/hl1250".
My localhost printer always prints PDF files 2-up. If I tell acroread to print 2-up, I get 4 pages per letter-sized sheet.
Using 11.10.
After installing the special cupswrapper driver for my printer (brother mfc-7220) it works fine when it's directly connected to my computer.
However, when I network the same printer through my router, it prints the job fine but also spits out two or three extra blank pages at the end of each print job.
Hi everyone,
I tried to install a new printer via the Printer Configuration GUI, but I always got an error message from CUPS saying "There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'cups-authorization-canceled'." I did a little bit of research on that but couldn't figure out how to solve the problem (yes, CUPS is running), so I installed the printer via the http://127.0.0.1:631/ and it
Hi I'm using a thermal printer tm-t20 at Ubuntu 12.04 x64.
With cups 1.5.3-0ubuntu4 and the epson provided drivers tmt-cups-1.3.2.
The printer just prints garbage after the first print. If I turn it off and then on, it prints ok (the first Job), but if I send another job it prints just garbage.
