I'm trying to edit the hosts file on Windows Server 2008.
I right clicked on Notepad and Ran as Administrator, then opened the hosts file, but when I try to save it I get the following error message:
Cannot create the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file.
Make sure that the path and file name are correct.
Next I checked the permissions for Administrators on the hosts file.
My first question, so be kind...
Basically, I have a folder that a user group has access to. This folder has a program in it that runs as root(via sudo) then outputs result files(xml files) to a subdirectory. Now, whenever the command is run it outputs the results with ownership of root(since that is who ran it).
Hello.
This is list of simple commands on linux. Forgot useful command?
In Windows there’re perhaps only a couple of important folders (by important I mean important in my logical picture of the Windows file system) in the installation drive (in my case C:\). Namely Program Files and Windows. I simply stay away from Windows folder and the “add remove program files” is good enough to handle the program files folder of Windows.
Hello,
I am very new to Linux in general. I have downloaded a program from the browser since this program cannot be downloaded with apt-get. The program is the Arduino IDE.
You download this as a .tgz file. I extracted the contents of the file and I can rune the program without any problem.
However I extracted the contents in my Download folder.
I have a scripts which download files from my file server and extract it on c:\home folder @ Windows Server R2.
When I tried to edit and save the extracted files, it shows Access denied, I am able to create new files under it.
I tried to edit the permission but they are locked, Administrator also not able to change permission.
So please let me know whats the issue.
Thanks,
Laxmilal
I have AWStats which works fine, and JAWStats I am trying to get working.
I have tried back and forward slashes to get the program to read the dirdata files.
I even moved the folder of dirdata outside of program files folder, in case it had problems with folder names with spaces in them.
Here is my config file.
// core config parameters
$sConfigDefaultView = "thismonth.all";
$bConfigC
