Did a fresh Database Server installation of CentOS 6.4 on Windows Hyper-V system. The Hyper-V system vNic available to the VM are all VLAN tagged using 802.1q VLAN trunking.1 VLAN ... [by br549]
I'm trying to get a VM running in Windows 8.1 on a different VLAN than what the O/S is using. I'm using an Intel NIC and have installed the Intel drivers, which have VLAN tagged on by default. It's connected to a HP switch that is configured with one VLAN untagged and another VLAN tagged (in Cisco-speak, it's a trunk port with two allow VLANs, one of which is the native VLAN).
I am trying to set up sub interfaces on my Ubuntu 14.04 server for each vlan. I believe I have successfully set them up using vonfig, but the sub interface is only pingable from hosts on it's own vlan. I'll need hosts outside it's vlan to be able to connect to it. This seems to work fine for my CentOS server so I know my networking is correct.
